Arising from the designer’s exploration and personal experiences, Autumn/Winter 2016 creates a sense of intrigue and brings wonder to knitwear.
The collection is integral to Genevieve’s aesthetics and explores the juxtapositions between androgynous silhouettes and femininity, structure and fluidity, and heritage and innovation. This is undoubtedly a collection of contrasts.
Autumn/Winter 2016 is inspired by Genevieve’s travels to Iceland and presents the contrast between the fluid natural lines created by glaciers, the bare landscape of the island and the contemporary architecture of its capital.
Icy blues, faded desert-greys, aurora highlights and a deep water navy are found in our everyday collection, which dramatically contrasts with the strong black, reflective metallics and hot pink accents that form the basis of our night collection.
Strong lines and sartorial silhouettes provide an element of sophistication to yarn mixes and unexpected textures. Traditional British techniques such as hand intarsia and dried thistle-brushing are used on the finest, new yarn blends sourced from the UK and Italy. As a result, the everyday knit is transformed into a premium, investment piece with every stitch.
