Garmology Podcast Interview – Founder Story

July 8, 2022

It’s not often you have the opportunity to look back and reflect on your journey to date.
I thoroughly enjoyed chatting with @garmologypodcast during this podcast and such a wonderful opportunity to look back over the last 7 years with both highs and lows of running a fashion brand.

Discussing first meetings with knitters in local pubs, hearing of factories through word of mouth and spending every holiday/moment spare travelling around the UK buying old machinery, meeting with yarn mills, and alpaca farms –  trying to get my foot through the factory door. This is my story of a true labour of love for heritage and innovative British knitwear.

“This week Genevieve Sweeney stops by to chat about the easy path of starting her knitwear brand. Or rather, how wanting to start making knitwear led her on a tour of discovery of discarded and obsolete machinery, meeting contacts in run-down pubs, locating expert knitters that had been put out to pasture, her husband becoming a trojan horse to get a foot inside the factory doors and be taken seriously. Oh, and how satisfying it is to succeed!” Garmology Podcast

@welldresseddad has the most soothing voice and he is a total joy to chat with. Grab a ☕️ and have a listen through your preferred podcast platform or via the link here.

Thank you for listening! All the best Genevieve x
