THE YARN
Genevieve’s hand-picked blend of klein blue, port red and vibrant pink yarns make for a completely unique and beautifully eye-catching colour twist. Custom-spun in Scotland from super-fine lambswool, the Alva offers an incredibly soft handle and irresistible comfort. Each piece is fully
fashioned to ensure a high quality finish with virtually no waste. Finally, it is washed in pure Scottish waters to enhance its luxurious look and feel.

This lambswool yarn has RWS (Responsible Wool Standards) certification, meaning that both the sheep that produce it and the land on which they graze is actively protected. Our yarn mill only sources from farms that can demonstrate respectful animal welfare, so every sheep leads a healthy life with essential freedoms.

THE DETAILS
Here at GS, we see buttons as an integral part of any cardigan.
Ours are made from sustainable Codelite and custom-dyed to a lustrous deep blue by Courtney & Co. – the last button makers in the UK.

SUSTAINABILITY CREDENTIALS 

Not only is the Alva spun on British soil from British yarn, it’s crafted in a way that minimises waste from start to finish. The buttons are made from Codelite – a completely natural and biodegradable product created by curing and hardening the naturally-occurring proteins found in milk. Codelite first became a staple of button manufacturing in the early twentieth century, and by reviving it Courtney & Co. commit to reducing the amount of plastic within the industry.

Brigett is 170cm/5’7″ tall, chest 83cm/32.5″- wearing a size Extra Small.
Tabatha is 178cm/5’10” tall, chest 86.5cm/34″- wearing a size Extra Small.

Inspired by menswear silhouettes, the Alva cardigan was designed using a men’s size guide but button positioning on the womens size.
