Genevieve creates the Lenzie cardigan’s fresh neutral hue through a carefully balanced melange of with hints of chalk and putty.

The Lenzie cardigan is knitted in 100% British-spun wool, selected for its softness, resilience and natural warmth, while retaining the authentic character of traditional Shetland-style wool.

Sourced from mulesing-free flocks, the yarn comes from the first clip of the lamb — the initial shear prized for its exceptional softness. Finer and rarer than later clips, it creates a garment of remarkable quality while preserving the distinctive texture and durability wool is known for.

Once knitted, the cardigan is gently brushed using dried teasel thistles — a rare, traditional finishing technique. Used for centuries, teasels softly lift the fibres to create a beautifully soft, subtly felted surface that no synthetic brush can replicate.

Here at GS, we see buttons as an integral part of any cardigan. Ours are made from sustainable Codelite and custom-dyed to a soft champagne hue by Courtney & Co. – the last button maker in the UK.

The buttons are made from Codelite – a completely natural and biodegradable product created by curing and hardening the naturally occurring proteins found in milk. Codelite first became a staple of button manufacturing in the early twentieth century, and by reviving it Courtney & Co. committed to reducing the amount of plastic within the industry.
The unique button colours are created with eco-friendly dyes that are Oeko-tex standard 100 and AZO-free certified.

A wardrobe staple perfect for layering, its textural brushed finish and slightly cropped fit gives a modern feel when worn with t-shirt and denim or over a summer dress. A lightweight handle perfect for those cooler months.
