Severn Merino Wool Stripe Sock Indigo

A colourful contrast to the traditional stripe, the Severn colour block stripe socks feature a stylish fusion of complex marls knitted in dramatic colour blocked intarsia stripe. The yarns are custom-spun by Genevieve herself, creating a soft, sustainable and durable merino wool blend that is twisted together using a traditional intarsia technique.

Made from a soft, sustainable and durable merino wool blend, these socks are custom-spun by Genevieve herself to create a selection of totally unique colour blends; in this case a deep indigo of bright blue, purple and charcoal melange. Knitted with a contrast intarsia stripe in bright blue and purple.

To create the Severn sock, Genevieve approached a family-run, Derbyshire-based mill, and after spotting the unusable end-of-line yarns, decided to rescue them from simply being thrown away.

Many of the yarns were small batches of discontinued colours, so Genevieve let her creativity run wild, twisting them together and producing completely unique blends out of otherwise wasted products. Twisting the yarns together can take hours and is something most factories wouldn’t have time for; but for Genevieve, it’s all about embracing the joy of slow manufacturing – and in doing so, creating something truly original and beautiful.
