THE YARN 

Made from soft – yet highly durable – machine washable merino wool, these socks are custom-spun by Genevieve herself to create a selection of unique colour blends – in this case, soft lilac, vibrant lime and burgundy marls. These beautiful marls are then twinned with a contrasting toe, heel and ribbed trim.

THE DETAILS 
Not only does the Samar provide exceptional comfort with its soft yarn and seamless construction, but the complexity of its contrast-colour design should not be overlooked. Creating this pattern is a highly complicated technique that not only challenges traditional intarsia machines but – in true reflection of Genevieve’s slow fashion values – also takes a long time.

SUSTAINABILITY CREDENTIALS 
To create the Samar sock, Genevieve approached a family-run mill based in Derbyshire, and after spotting the unusable end-of-line yarns, decided to rescue them from simply being thrown away. Many of the yarns were small batches of discontinued colours, so Genevieve let her creativity run wild, twisting them together and producing completely unique blends out of otherwise wasted products. Twisting the yarns together can take hours and is something most factories wouldn’t have time for; but for Genevieve, it’s all about embracing the joy of slow manufacturing – and in doing so creating something truly original and beautiful.

GIFT BOX
Each sock will be hand wrapped in tissue paper with GS sticker, presented in the GS white gift box – sealed with a golden GNVE label. Beautifully presented for gifting to love ones far and near, you can also add a gift note at the checkout.
