The first sock Genevieve ever created was the Solline, a highly versatile colour-block style that’s proved popular with men and women alike. The story of this sock began when Genevieve discovered a beautiful yarn that was unfortunately too fine for knitting sweaters. Undeterred, she travelled to Derbyshire – yarn in hand – to learn the art of knitting socks instead. The result was the Solline, a truly unique piece of craftsmanship that blends red viscose cotton with silver lurex. It’s finished with a playful scattering of multi-coloured silk tweeds.

The sparkly yarn detail within our GS socks has STANDARD 100 OEKO-TEX® certification means that the textile fibres have been extensively tested and declared free of harmful substances. As a result, they are deemed completely safe for human health.

The trims are knitted in premium organic cotton that has been certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard known as GOTS. This manufacturing model not only ensures safe and fair working conditions for both cotton manufacturers and textile chain workers, but a premium quality product free from harmful substances such as pesticides, fertilisers or defoliants.

With the Solline sock, Genevieve continues to demonstrate her dedication to sustainability and slow, considered fashion. Rather than sourcing her production overseas, she works closely with a family- run, Derbyshire-based mill that manufactures in small batches to reduce waste. The design is crafted using a traditional machine-led method coupled with a hand-finishing technique that truly embraces the joy and beauty of artisan craft.
