Introduction to our Spring/Summer 2024 Collection

Introducing our new summer regenerative-viscose knits: five pieces that I have designed to fit effortlessly into your summer wardrobe.

I have always found it hard to pin down my summer wardrobe. I love dressing for the colder months, and always try to find a way to incorporate knitwear into my summer outfits. I like to wear seasonless pieces and prefer to have a capsule wardrobe that works all year round, just adding pieces of knitwear when needed for warmth. Over the last few summers, I have been searching for effortless, multifunctional silhouettes that I can wear both on hot days and cooler summer nights.

When it came to designing a handful of new garments for my spring/summer collection, I had my own, personal hunt for the perfect summer wardrobe in mind. Of course, I wanted these to be pieces that would effortlessly fit into anyone’s summer wardrobe – or suitcase. These were my guidelines when designing the collection:

  • These pieces had to be able to roll up small, to be packed in carry-on luggage.
  • They had to be made from a breathable and soft knitted fabric.
  • They must be easy to care for.
  • They needed to be versatile for taking on a beach holiday. I wanted these to be items to layer over a swimsuit at a beach bar, that you could also layer effortlessly for evening wear.
  • They had to be suitable for city breaks, beach holidays, festivals, weddings and summer garden parties. The ultimate multi-functional summer garments.
  • They needed to be something unexpected; surprising and unique pieces of knitwear that would delight their wearers.
  • And they also needed to be suitable for layering, to appease women like me who like to have a capsule wardrobe that works all year round. I wanted these garments to be able to be dressed up or dressed down, and to be suitable for every occasion.

How to style our new summer pieces

These five garments are designed to be multi-functional and to work for your own wardrobes. If you’re seeking styling inspiration, this is how I plan on wearing them myself….

The Long Knitted Cardigan

This is a really intricate piece which takes many hours to knit, with the three colour jacquard and lace detailing giving it a rich texture. Over the summer months, I will be layering the long knitted cardigan over a white t-shirt and either jeans or shorts for elevating my daily outfits. During my summer holiday, it will also be the perfect effortless cover-up to drape over a swimsuit by the pool or on the beach. And I plan on wearing it loose over a silk dress for summer weddings. When the temperatures drop, I will continue wearing this piece for winter by layering it over a fine-knit roll-neck jumper and tailored trousers.

The T-Shirts

These t-shirts utilise a jacquard relief technique with a subtle sheerness to create a garment that will instantly elevate your look. I love to elevate a t-shirt with tailored trousers for an outfit that is suitable for work or more casual events, and the intricate detail of these t-shirts makes them ideal for more formal looks. They’d also be a great way to dress up your favourite jeans for a day exploring a city or for pairing with leather trousers for a chic cocktail look. If you’re planning on attending any festivals this summer, I especially love the thought of wearing these t-shirts with shorts for a stylish yet simple festival look. A merino wool t-shirt in a plain knit will also be launching later this summer.

The Knitted Kaftan Dress

This dress will be accompanying me on all my travels this summer and beyond, from city breaks to beach getaway. It’s such a nonchalant yet statement garment that it requires very little styling. For more formal occasions such as weddings, I will pair with heeled sandals, bold earrings and a clutch bag. For evening attire for more casual events, dinners, garden parties or beach bars, I would pair with flat sandals, large sunglasses and pare back on the accessories to let the dress take centrestage.

The Midi Skirt

I’ll be wearing this on repeat, and love how it will be a key part of my wardrobe all year round. Over summer, I will be teaming it with a simple t-shirt, my favourite sunglasses and either smart trainers or sandals. During the winter months, I will be layering up with a brushed wool Leslie jumper providing the perfect contrast and adding warmth.

The Knitted Vest

This is the perfect piece for a holiday in the sun. I will pair this with loose linen trousers or tailored shorts for a daytime look, then dress it up in the evening with silk trousers and a cardigan for warmth. For the winter months, I’m looking forward to wearing this knitted vest to go out for cocktails or dinner, paired with my favourite leather trousers.
